'More flavor, please.' New healthy chips don't pass the taste test with these kids.

The product: Snyder’s Multigrain Sunflower Chips–lightly salted

Rolando Gonzalez, 7th grade:
The package is not attractive because it looks like any old chips package. But when you look at the chip and take a bite, it tastes way better than any other chip. Your mouth starts to water. Its texture and taste is salty but at the same time kind of cheddary – a perfect combination. It would be a great snack for a kid and even for adults who know what it is to have a good bag of chips. These will have a child dancing and give parents time to finish their work.

Zoe Friedland, 7th grade:
The packaging says lightly salted, but they taste like a piece of stale bread. They are bland, dry and flavorless, and the packaging is about as colorless as the chips. The aftertaste is OK but makes my throat dry and itchy. I would not suggest these to anyone. I hope I never have to try these again.

Josh Huff, 7th grade:
Yes, Snyder’s Multigrain Sunflower Chips do look appealing because they look like sunflowers to me. They taste like Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes and smell like them too. You can use these and change the world today for kids to eat more healthfully.

Hannah Stevens, 7th grade:
These chips are very good because they are not too crunchy. They really don’t taste like anything, but I love the texture in the chips and they look really fun because of their wave. Kids really like cool looking things like these. But these chips need more taste.

Adam Haas, 7th grade:
With a sun on the package, the packaging of Snyder’s Multigrain Sunflower Chips does look appealing. The taste is very crunchy, but not too crunchy. The chips have a good aftertaste. This product should be sold to kids.

Sarah Posner, 7th grade:
These chips have a unique texture. When you bite into one, it feels like there are lots of little tiny air bubbles in it. There isn’t too much salt, like many other chips have. Their shape is the same as Sun Chips, which I think is sort
of a rip-off, but I like these better. They actually have some flavor, not like cardboard with grease and salt. I would pack these in my backpack for a snack on the way home from school. They will be a good addition to the chip world.

Deontre Yarbrough, 7th grade:
The packaging is not that appealing, but it is easy to open. They taste like plain Sun Chips and they smell like Sun Chips. The texture is kind of rough. I really don’t think the world needs them because they’re just Sun Chips with no flavor.

Aaliyah Chastang, 7th grade:
The Multigrain Sunflower Chips taste like Corn Flakes. They are hard. These sunflower chips are easy to open. I thought they would taste kind of like Frito-Lay’s Sun Chips. They smell good, but once you put them in your mouth, they taste different.

David Hutchison, 7th grade:
The packaging makes the product look as good as it tastes. It is fairly easy to open and can be taken along to potlucks and parties. The texture is rough and bumpy. They are slightly salty and have a mild, less intense flavor.

Marne Lang-Mackey, 7h grade:
I think these chips taste kind of like Kellogg’s Rice Krispies cereal with salt on it. They taste OK. They are hard and bumpy and they need more salt or more flavor.

Cindy Mariscal, 7th grade:
They are nasty, salty, dry and tasteless; and for me, not good. They also taste like some other chips that I’ve tasted before.

Juliana Nazaire, 7th grade:
The Multigrain Sunflower Chips look like sun rays, but taste like crispy flakes cereal. They look healthy, and are crunchy and taste somewhat good.
