Food Biz Kids: Mixed Feelings About Pinky-Sized Butterfinger

Nov. 1, 2010
Both praise and nay's from our junior-high reviewers on the snack size candy from Nestle USA.
Jose Gonzalez, 8th grade:The Butterfinger Snackerz packaging gives you a very good picture of what you are getting. The outside is very creamy and sweet chocolaty, and the inside tastes very nutty and crunchy. But when I touch it, the first thing it does is melt where I touched it. Although it's sort of messy, it's a very good candy to snack on.

This month's product:
Butterfinger Snackerz
Nestle USA, Glendale, Calif.

Natalie Cleland, 8th grade:Butterfinger Snackerz smell amazing. They look so cute and petite. They are crunchy and have a Butterfinger flavor. The packaging is the classic Butterfinger look, but re-vamped. Over all, I think that kids will like these. I like these Butterfinger Snackerz.Janeth Herrera, 8th grade:The packaging is really cool, but the name is not. They should change the name because it doesn't even taste like a Butterfinger. It tastes like butter and chocolate mixed together. It feels soft and kinda hard, and smells like chocolate. People who like chocolate would buy and eat it.Marty Leoni, 8th grade:The new Butterfinger Snackerz are flame! [We think that means divine.] They smell great and taste like a regular Butterfinger. But then, they explode with a flavorful filling. The packaging is bright and will appeal to kids. They are great.Erica Gardner, 8th grade:The packaging is very easy to open and the color of the package is like a bright yellow. When I first opened the package, I could just smell the chocolate coming out of the bag. When I put one of them in my mouth, I first got a chocolate taste and when I bite into it, the Butterfinger Snackerz are nice and crisp.Alex Dzierzynski, 8th grade:When I first saw the package, I'm like, "Oh, Butterfinger – I like those." The package is kind of plain. When I opened it up, it smelled good. I took a bite, but it didn't taste anything like a Butterfinger bar. They are crunchy and kind of plain like flavored paper. As soon as I held one, it started melting, and that's not good. People who love Butterfinger bars would hate these. People who love plain tasteless foods would like them.    Sidni Thomas, 8th grade:Butterfinger Snackerz are very crunchy and chocolaty, although they are not that great for an actual snack. I also think they should change the packaging. The product looks nothing like the picture, and I find it dull. And it doesn't have a strong scent. All in all, these snacks do not get a thumbs-up from me.Imari Huff, 8th grade:With the bright yellow and blue wrapper, it's appealing to kids. When you first eat it, it's crunchy like a cookie, but the peanut butter makes it mushy. The chocolate tastes good and  is complemented by the caramel. The only difference is the peanut butter. Anyone who likes a Butterfinger would like this. Ashley Roberts, 8th grade:The texture of the Butterfinger Snackerz is amazing. The caramel adds an intense flavor to the Butterfinger. This mini Butterfinger lets you have more time to enjoy it – longer than normal size. Caramel inside adds even more taste, but this mini size Butterfinger isn't really my favorite. Sam Brewer, 8th grade:I like the original Butterfinger, but these taste bad. The crunchiness of the stuff on top ruins the original Butterfinger taste and leaves a bad aftertaste in my mouth. People will buy them because they look like a Butterfinger, but when they figure it out, they will never get them again.Mikey Barrett, 8th grade:The Butterfinger Snackerz package just looks like a normal package, but the Snackerz on the front look good. When I take a sniff, it smells like a Butterfinger. Oh yeah baby, this stuff is delicious. I love chocolate, and I love this stuff. It has a nice texture too – nice and crunchy. I would buy these and eat them. But Snicker Bites would be better.Russell Snap, 8th grade:Butterfinger Snackerz are delicious! They are hollow and chocolaty. The package is very convenient, and serves its purpose. They are so good!Gustave Flores, 8th grade:The package is yellow. When I tasted Butterfinger Snackerz, they tasted like peanut butter under chocolate. It has orange stripes on the top of the chocolate. The texture is smooth from the bottom and hard from the top. It smells good, and tastes good – really good. Haley Kretchmer, 8th grade:The packaging is very appealing and makes me want to eat them. They taste really good – similar to Butterfinger, just with caramel. They have the same texture as a Butterfinger. I like how they are small, and I would definitely buy this product.
