Biography:
Diane Toops joined Putman Media Inc. in 1989. She is the news and trends editor, new product reviewer and business and marketing section editor for Food Processing, Wellness Foods and Food Creation magazines. She also is editor-in-chief of A.M. Update, a daily industry news fax. When time permits, Diane takes to the road giving presentations to the food industry on consumer trends. Before joining Putman Diane spent several years as editor-in-chief of the National Furniture Moving & Storage Foundation's monthly magazine,charted soybean futures at the Chicago Board of Trade and was marketing director of Total Games Inc., a board games company. Diane is a member of the International Futurists Society, the International Association of Culinary Professionals, Research Chefs Association, Culinary Historians of Chicago, ChicaGourmets, Food Executive Women and Broadcast Music Inc. She is past president of Chicago Women in Publishing, holds a CTM and is on the executive board of Michigan Avenue Toastmasters and serves on the advisory board of the Mobius Advertising Awards. She is a recipient of a two American Society of Business Publications Editors awards for her "Toops Scoops" column. Diane is currently enrolled in the writing/advertising program at Northwestern University, enjoying her new incarnation as a co-ed.
