DuPont Acurum wins technology award
12/29/2004
The Canadian Association of Agri-Retailers recently selected the DuPont Acurum automated grain analysis system as one of the Top 10 New Technologies for 2004. The award was announced in the December issue of CAAR Communicator, the association's newsmagazine, which is distributed to agricultural products distributors and retailers across Canada. DuPont⢠Acurum⢠is an advanced technology that uses digital imaging and artificial neural networks to objectively assess specific quality factors in grain. Grain industry customers who use this technology can make better and more consistent decisions when buying, selling and blending grain, compared with the more subjective process of doing a manual visual inspection.DuPont Canada has a long-term global licensing agreement with the Canadian government to commercialize the system, which was developed initially by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
