New Line of Fresh Indian Sauces Sizzles

Maya Kaimal’s new line of fresh Indian sauces was chosen by Saveur magazine as one of its ‘favorite foods’ in the annual Saveur 100. The January/February special issue, which hit newsstands nationwide on January 18, acclaims that the sauces, “...taste as if a good Indian home cook had prepared them. One did.”

Award-winning cookbook author Maya Kaimal created her sauces, based on family recipes, to fill the void of high-quality, fresh Indian food. Available in three flavors -- Tikka Masala, Coconut Curry, and Vindaloo -- these are the only refrigerated Indian simmer sauces on the market. According to Florence Fabricant, food critic for the New York Times, “Ms. Kaimal has done all the heavy lifting, so the cook doesn’t have to toast, grind, or blend the spices and other sauce ingredients.”

Kaimal will be promoting her line at the Fancy Food Show in San Francisco (January 23-25) with samples of all three flavors (booths 356 and 381). The sauces can be found at hundreds of gourmet and natural food stores nationwide, including Whole Foods, for a suggested retail price of $5.99 for four servings.
