Tastykake brings summer to shoppers' palates

In addition to traditional summer favorites, Philadelphia-based Tasty Baking Company's summer line now includes Pineapple Cream TastyGraham Pies, Key Lime TastyGraham Pies, Peanut Butter Kreamies and Pina Colada Juniors. The Company is hosting a sampling event on May 17 at the Rotunda at Liberty Place in Philadelphia, where both its employees and its mascot, Kirbee the Krimpet, will be on hand to give out the free samples. "We expect the Pineapple Cream Graham Pie and the Key Lime Graham Pie to be among our most popular products this summer," said Karen Schutz, director of marketing and new business development at Tasty Baking Company. "When you combine favorite summer flavors with Tastykake's new graham cracker pie crust, the result is a wonderful new Tastykake pie!" Pina Colada Juniors are a moist yellow cake layered with sweet pineapple cream filling and topped with vanilla frosting and toasted coconut. The Peanut Butter Kreamie is a signature Tastykake chocolate cake, filled with peanut butter cream and topped with rich chocolate butter cream icing.The company also announced the introduction of new Chocolate Lovers Cupcakes and Vanilla Lovers Cupcakes. "The Lovers Cupcakes, both Chocolate and Vanilla, are exciting additions to our top selling cupcake line," said Schutz. "As the name implies, the Lovers Cupcakes celebrate either their chocolate or vanilla flavoring with cake, frosting and filling all in that particular flavor."
