Google Launches World-Wide Search for Two Executive Chefs
Food Creation, FoodProcessing.com
"These two chefs will play an important role in managing the company's growing appetites," said Sergey Brin, president, Technology, Google Inc. "We welcome all culinary engineers to try out for our exceptional team."
On average, Google employees are served more than 5,000 fine meals every workday, free, at Google’s headquarters campus. For years, Charlie Fehrs – formerly the chef for the Grateful Dead – served as Executive Chef at Google, supervising a staff of more than 100 who daily prepared an eclectic menu to suit every palate – from vegetarian to sushi, burgers to Mexican – served in Google’s five restaurants on the campus. As always, natural and organic ingredients are used whenever possible to prepare delicious, healthy meals for the staff.
Qualified chefs are invited to submit their resumes to Google at email@example.com. When a critical mass of submissions has been received, the top candidates will be invited to Google headquarters to prepare a meal for the "tasting committee." Four finalists will compete in a Google Chef Cookoff, whose two winners will be offered the roles of Executive Chef at Google.
Menu of Benefits
On-campus dining is an important item in the company's extensive menu of employee benefits. Other benefits include a staff physician, dry cleaning pickup and delivery, on-site car wash and oil change, gym, personal trainers, tuition reimbursement, proximity parking for pregnant employees, nursing rooms for mothers, and more.
Interested applicants may review the position description at www.google.com/jobs/facilities.html, and are encouraged to send a resume and cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org. A sample lunch menu is available at http://googleblog.blogspot.com.
