El Monterey Brand Awareness Continues to Build Through Consumer Promotions

Ruiz Foods, Inc. has launched an FSI brand-awareness promotion in conjunction with Cinco de Mayo. The FSI, which dropped nationally on May 3, 2009, displayed a $1 off coupon on any flavor of El Monterey 20-count Taquitos. The FSI also featured an easy-to-make Hot Chili Cheese Dip recipe.

El Monterey Taquito flavors include:

  • Shredded Beef and Cheese Flour Taquitos
  • Chicken and Cheese Flour Taquitos
  • Beef and Cheese Corn Taquitos
  • Chicken and Cheese Corn Taquitos
  • Breakfast Flour Taquitos

The IRI data reveals an 11-percent increase in El Monterey brand Taquitos versus a total category decrease of three percent. In addition, El Monterey brand products reflect an overall eight-percent increase versus the entire category’s decrease of 2.8 percent.
