Cadbury Rejects Kraft Takeover Offer

On September 7, 2009 London-based candy maker Cadbury confirmed that it had received an 'unsolicited proposal' from Northbrook, IL-based Kraft Foods regarding a possible takeover.

According to Cadbury, the Board rejected the offer. The ChicagoTribune.com picked up from the Associated Press that Cadbury's shares subsquently 'shot up' 41% after the announcement.
