AdvancePierre Foods acquires Barber Foods

AdvancePierre Foods, Cincinnati, announced June 1 it acquired Barber Foods, Portland, Maine, which manufactures and distributes stuffed chicken breasts and other chicken products. Barber offers more than 300 frozen products that are both raw and fully cooked. After Pierre Foods entered bankruptcy protection in 2010, AdvancePierre Foods resulted from its merger with Advance Food Co., all under the ownership of Oaktree Capital Management. Barber’s Portland, Maine, manufacturing facility will continue.
