Expected to draw 150,000

Anuga is a global food and beverage fair held every two years in the Koelnmesse Convention Center, Cologne, Germany. Anuga’s unique concept of featuring 10 specialized trade show segments in one location has been highly successful in matching exhibitors with their right target audience. It also is the ideal forum for food formulators to generate ideas to better serve the global marketplace.

In its 31st year, Anuga runs from Oct. 8 -12 this year and is expected to attract 6,500 exhibitors representing 100-plus countries. An estimated 150,000 international trade buyers will shop the 10 segments, which are: 1. Bread & Bakery, Hot Beverages; 2. Chilled & Fresh Foods; 3. Dairy; 4. Drinks; 5. Fine Food; 6. Foodservice; 7. Frozen Food; 8. Meat; 9. Organic; and 10. RetailTec.

For 2011, Anuga organizers have identified nine trend topics that will be highlighted throughout the 10 segments. They are: Finger Food; Gourmet Products & Regional Specialties; Halal Food; Health & Functional Food; Industrial Ingredients; Kosher Products; Organic Products; Private Label; and Vegetarian Products.
