The Hershey Co., Hershey, Pa., appointed Unilever veteran Todd Tillemans its new U.S. president, while Steven Schiller has been named president of the company's international unit. The new appointments, announced on Feb. 23, came along with other executive changes ahead of Michele Buck's move March 1 to the CEO position. Buck will take over from incumbent CEO John P. Bilbrey.

Tillemans served 23 years at Unilever where he held a range of leadership positions in the U.S. and Europe, most recently as president of customer development in the U.S. He will join Hershey April 3, overseeing its core confection business and its expanding snacking portfolio, as well as the company's sales and go-to-market teams.

Steven Schiller, who leads Hershey in China and Asia, will become president, international. He will continue to oversee the China and Asia markets but will assume responsibility for the Americas region, India, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

In connection with these announcements, chief knowledge and technology officer Waheed Zaman will retire from the company, effective March 31.

Terry O'Day, Hershey's chief supply chain officer, will become a senior vice president and chief product supply and technology officer. O'Day will continue to oversee the company's supply chain organization, but will add responsibility for Hershey’s productivity, information technology and enterprise connectivity initiatives. The company plans to name an external candidate as its chief growth officer some time this spring.
Continuing in their roles are:

Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Patricia Little
Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary Leslie Turner
Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Kevin Walling
Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer Mike Wege

“Hershey is an innovative snacking leader with its number-one market share in U.S. confection and increasing breadth across U.S. snacking,” said Buck. “I’m extremely confident in the individuals who will lead our organization as we delight our customers and consumers with innovation and news in the marketplace and strive to deliver leading sales growth and margins across the food industry. This is a great team, with a range of experiences, expertise and backgrounds to accelerate our innovation, execute with excellence, instill a commercial mindset in all we do, and inspire our remarkable employees to achieve our goals.”
