Nestle Purina To Build $320 Million Plant in Georgia

Oct. 2, 2017
Factory and distribution center in Hartwell, Ga., should come online in 2018 and 2019; it's Purina's second Georgia plant.

Nestle Purina Petcare said in late September it will spend $320 million to build a pet food factory and distribution center in Hartwell, Ga. The distribution center will begin next year and production will begin in 2019, reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

It will be Purina's first new U.S. factory in two decades. It should create 240 new jobs over the next five years.

Nestle Purina already operates a plant in Fairburn, Ga., just southwest of Atlanta. Hartwell is 100 miles northeast of Atlanta.
