Wife-husband founders of Pizzey's Milling beef up Grain Millers' flax business; pasteurized flax unveiled

Grain Millers Inc.’s Flax Division has created a strategic partnership with the former owners of Pizzey’s Milling to produce a pasteurized line of flaxseed products. Linda and Glenn Pizzey join Grain Millers (www.grainmillers.com) as key members of the latter’s flax business. They sold Pizzey’s Milling to Glanbia in 2007.

Grain Millers will manufacture SafeFlax at a new site in Angusville, Manitoba, and at existing facilities in Marion, Ind., and Newton, Wis. All SafeFlax products undergo a proprietary heat-stabilization and pasteurization treatment to mitigate the risk of contamination while minimizing stress on the flax product. The SafeFlax line includes SafeBake and SafeBev, solutions that have been designed for the baking, cereal, and beverage markets. SafeFlax products also will be used in a variety of mixes that Grain Millers currently sells.
