Carton labeling system adds RFID to its repertoire

ID Technology, a Fort Worth, Texas-based provider of labeling, coding and marking solutions, announced June 21 that its Knock-Down Carton Label Printer Applicator system now applies printed and encoded RFID labels.

ID Technology's system provides a versatile solution for customers that require frequent, quick changeovers of case sizes or label position, as well as others who need to apply RFID encoded labels on knock-down cartons prior to case forming and product packing. The system includes ID Technology's next generation printer applicator, the Model 250r, and a heavy duty, vacuum-free, case feeding system.

The IDT Model 250r printer applicator reads, writes, verifies and applies RFID tags to the top, bottom, sides, or multiple panels of different sized boxes. The 250r's modular design easily integrates into any packaging system and allows users to "hot swap" spare assemblies in a few minutes, reducing costly downtime.

The Knock-Down system comes standard with a 32-inch case feeding magazine, vacuum-free mechanical case separation, case transfer by powered rollers and a gravity discharge/re-stacking platform. Users also have easy access to the system's case and label re-loading areas. The system is rated for heavy-duty use and features a welded frame with 10-inch aluminum channel, and stainless and plated steel construction.
