Electropositive Pleated Filters for Lenticular Housings Show Higher Capacity and Efficiency
Argonide Corporation announced the development of its NanoCeram-LR high performance pleated filter cartridges specifically engineered and designed to replace lenticular filters. This pleated filter cartridge has a lower shipping weight per cartridge to help reduce shipping costs. And, since each NCLR holds less water, it eases the process of filter replacement for the operator. Each NanoCeram-LR filter cartridge contains Argonide’s patented non-woven filter media matrix infused with nanoalumina fibers, creating an electropositively-charged depth filter. When assembled into a pleated cartridge, NanoCeram offers a unique combination of efficiency, capacity, flowrate and low pressure drop at levels unmatched in today’s filtration marketplace.
NanoCeram is capable of removing small particles (including colloidal iron and TOC’s), bacteria and virus from water at high flow rates, using the principal of electrostatic attraction and adsorption.
The line of NanoCeram-LR pleated filter cartridges were engineered and designed as drop-in replacements for lenticular filter cartridges. They will fit into most commercially available lenticular housings and results have shown a greater dirt-holding capacity, higher efficiency, and wider operating pH range versus other charged lenticular filters. Initial bacteria and virus retention greater than 7 LRV and 6 LRV (respectively) are projected for the new NanoCeram-LR cartridges.
NanoCeram technology yields SDI (Silt Density Index) values averaging < 0.5 and turbidity levels < 0.01 NTU when incorporated in a pleated cartridge. These results will often out-perform many UF devices currently used in ultrapure water systems.
The new line also includes optional NanoCeram-PAC technology, with the same dimensions but including powdered activated carbon integrated into the media. The result is a filter with many of the same characteristics but with the additional capability to remove halogens as well as most soluble organics.
All components in NanoCeram-LR filters are FDA-compliant and appropriate for food contact.
