Mettler Toledo Provides Model for Next-Generation Industry Technology Adoption
Mettler Toledo’s enhanced scale item data model could provide a path for the future for scale IT solutions that integrate across system platforms. The new data model is the result of years of collaboration with the Association for Retail Technology Standards (ARTS).This new data model will allow for seamless integration between scale vendor’s and retailer’s IT systems, and can lead the way towards better information exchange to address upcoming challenges like traceability. The company is in the process of rolling out ARTS-compliant improvements that better define the item data needed to effectively manage a retailer’s fresh departments.
Enhancements include:
- Improved definitions for item ingredients and tare weight
- Category additions for IngredientID, ImageName and Label FormatID definitions
