Gatorade's G Series FIT Products Designed For Athletes' Needs

To help athletes get the most out of their performance, scientists from Chicago-based Gatorade, a PepsiCo subsidiary, launched G Series Performance, a line of new food and beverage products supported by the latest science and developed in collaboration with the world's greatest athletes to provide fuel, fluid and nutrients before, during and after activity.

Each G Series FIT product has been designed with the fitness athlete's specific demands in mind, including: functional package design, custom product portions and the incorporation of natural ingredients like fruits and nuts. All of this is aimed at meeting the fitness athlete's fueling and hydration demands - pre (01), during (02) and post (03) exercise.

G Series Fit 01 Prime is a pre-workout fuel in the form of small energy bites in 4-oz. pouches, providing nutrients and carbohydrates to help get the most out of a workout without feeling too full. At 100 calories, it includes 25g of carbohydrates, electrolytes (110mg sodium and 35mg potassium) and 10 percent-plus DV of B vitamins -- niacin (B3), pantothenic acid (B5) and pyridoxine (B6). It is available in Orange, Fruit Punch, and Berry flavors.

G Series Fit 02 Perform, a lightly flavored electrolyte drink, maintains hydration more efficiently than water and helps replace the fluid and electrolytes lost in sweat. At the same time, it invigorates the senses to keep fitness athletes pushing through their workout without weighing them down.

Gatorade Thirst Quencher helps athletes replace fluids, replenish electrolytes and refuel working muscles during activity. It contains 14g of carbohydrates plus electrolytes (110mg sodium and 30mg of potassium).

Gatorade Perform 02 G2 is a low-calorie thirst quencher that delivers functional hydration for active people during exercise, but with less than half the calories (and carbohydrates to fuel working muscles) of Gatorade Thirst Quencher. It contains 5g of carbohydrates and electrolytes (110mg sodium and 30mg potassium.

G Series Fit 03 Recover is a light, refreshing, fruit-based smoothie designed to help restore the body after a workout through a blend of 16g of protein, 14g of carbohydrates, electrolytes (250mg sodium and 95mg potassium) and vitamins and minerals -- with only 130 calories. Flavors include Strawberry-Kiwi, Lemon-Lime-Orange and Mixed Berry.

Suggested retail price for 01 is $1.29-1.99, 02 is $1.29, and 03 is $1.79-2.99.
