Chicago-Inspired Popcorn Celebrates City's Birthday

March 28, 2013
The Popcorn Factory, Chicago's purveyor of gourmet snacks is celebrating the Windy City's 176th birthday with three celebratory popcorn flavors, inspired by Chicago's favorite fare.

The Popcorn Factory is popping out a special gift in honor of The Windy City's 176th birthday. For a limited time, three celebratory popcorn flavors, inspired by Chicago's favorite foods, are available to foodies in the Second City and beyond (via online ordering).

Celebrate Chicago's reputation as the Pizza Capital of the World with Savory Chicago Deep Dish Pizza Corn, which is loaded with the flavors of tomato sauce and tangy mozzarella. Pay homage to the classic Chicago dog with salty Chicago Hot Dog Corn, which tastes like a kosher hot dog on a poppy seed bun with yellow mustard, green relish, chopped onion, tomato wedges, a pickle spear and celery salt... but never, ever ketchup, as they say in the city. For dessert there's Chicago Chocolate Cheesecake Corn. This cream-cheesy sweet white popcorn contains the flavor of vanilla along with a rich chocolate drizzle and chunks of graham crackers.

All three varieties come packed in a commemorative 3.5-gal. Chicago Skyline Watercolor Tin ($29.99-39.99) or in a 10-in. clear canister ($9.99-19.99).
