Women dedicated to positive weight management are shifting their eating focus, according to Kellogg Co., Battle Creek, Mich. They are paying more attention to what is in their food, not just what was taken out, which is why the company continues to grow its female-focused Special K brand. The most recent concept is Special K Nourish, a line of hot cereals and nutrition bars made with a unique multi-grain blend of superfoods, including quinoa, oats and barley, and topped with dried fruit and nuts. A single serving contains 7-8g of protein, 5g of fiber and less than 200 calories.

To help women focus on positive nutrition, the brand teamed up with Food Network star and registered dietitian Ellie Krieger. "Getting both fiber and protein is an important combination to help keep you on track throughout your weight-management journey," Krieger says. "Eating a breakfast with delicious whole grains and positive nutrients is a great way to start your day right and help you accomplish your weight-management goals."

Both product concepts come in three flavors. The hot cereal options are Cinnamon Raisin Pecan, Cranberry Almond and Maple Brown Sugar Crunch and are sold in two-count packages for $2.29. The nutrition bars are available in Cranberry Almond, Dark Chocolate Nut Delight and Lemon Twist. They are sold in boxes of five for $6.49.
