Cheerios' New Cereal Helps Families Fuel their Day with Protein

June 24, 2014
For long-lasting energy and extended breakfast options, Cheerios offers Oats & Honey and Cinnamon Almond flavored Cheerios Protein.

According to a recent survey of parents throughout the country by General Mills Inc., moms and dads say they are running in a million different directions in the morning and can’t make a protein-rich breakfast for their families. Additionally, more than half admit there isn’t time to prepare it. New Cheerios Protein is a family-friendly way to start the day on the right foot with 11g of protein with milk. Cheerios Protein combines toasted O’s with crunchy granola clusters in two flavors: Oats & Honey and Cinnamon Almond.

“Parents are looking for breakfast options that not only provide long-lasting energy, but also something their entire family will enjoy at times that are right for them,” says Matt McQuinn, senior marketing manager, Big G Cereal New Products. According to the survey, more than half of the population is seeking protein benefits and breakfast is one of the highest desired occasions for sustained energy. In addition to protein, the cereal provides 13 vitamins and minerals and more than half the daily value of whole grain. It is also a good source of fiber. Cheerios Protein is available at retailers nationwide in 14.1-oz. boxes.
