Doc’s Nutrilicious Rolls Out Frozen Pizzas Infused with Fruits and Vegetables
It’s a dilemma faced by grocery shoppers everywhere. You try to make sensible choices while perusing the frozen foods, but it can be pretty challenging getting enough grains, veggies and protein when it seems like everything quick and convenient is overloaded with fat, sugar and sodium. If only the foods that are craved were the ones actually good for you. That’s what you get with Oh Yes! Pizza from Doc’s Nutrilicious Inc., Los Angeles. The new company has launched a frozen pizza line infused with fruits and vegetables in the crust and sauce.
The company was launched by two physicians who tried to expand the short list of foods their young daughter would eat, a list that did not include anything green and leafy. They had an idea to get dehydrated fresh fruits and vegetables and blend them into her food. The result is new Oh Yes! Pizza, something even a picky palate cannot resist. The frozen pizza discreetly contains organic artichoke, broccoli, butternut squash, carrot, cauliflower, green pepper, guava, kale, papaya and red beet. Each pizza is also fortified with quinoa for a boost of essential amino acids.
Oh Yes! Pizza comes in four varieties with and without gluten and with and without dairy cheese. A 12.5-oz. pizza sells for about $11.
