The Smart & Crunchy Fish Sticks and Fillets are rolling out to freezer cases across the country and are expected to be available nationally early in 2015.

Gorton’s Seafood, the inventor of one of America’s most classic mealtime options, the fish stick, has reinvented its iconic product. Gorton’s all new Smart & Crunchy Fish Sticks are rolling out to freezer cases across the country and are expected to be available nationally early in 2015. Smart & Crunchy Fish Fillets are also available, with both products made using 100 percent wild-caught Alaska Pollock and breaded in a panko coating to give them extra crunch. Always crispy, never fried, they have 50 percent less fat than Gorton’s regular fish sticks and are 180 calories per serving.

In efforts to get fish on more dinner plates, the company introduced fish sticks in 1953. Since, the company has continued to innovate in order to offer more wholesome options at mealtime. “We are so excited to be able to share these new products,” says Gavin Kennedy, director of consumer marketing. “We’ve been working hard at this concept for quite some time, trying to find a way to improve our iconic fish sticks nutritionally and maintain that same great taste and crunch that Americans have come to love over the past 60 years.”
