The Kugel Co. Offers Four Varieties of Sweet and Savory Heat-and-Eat Kugel

April 10, 2014
The Kugel Co. rolled out four varieties of this classic Jewish egg noodle dish.

In the marketplace for a little more than a year, Kugel from The Kugel Co. LLC, Los Angeles, is now four varieties strong. This classic Jewish egg noodle dish is made using CEO Michele Locker’s family recipe. It relies on a cream cheese custard with either sweet or savory ingredients.

Each Kugel flavor features a heartwarming story of one of Locker’s relatives, evoking memories of times when families slowed down to eat together, tell stories and enjoy home cooking. The heat-and-eat, pre-baked frozen kugel can serve as a side, main course, dessert or just a snack. Shoppers can choose from Aunt Nonie’s Vanilla Cinnamon, Uncle Irv’s Caramelized Onion, Aunt Dotty’s Lemon Coconut and Uncle George’s Gluten-Free Sweet Potato.

A 12-oz. package contains four servings, with each serving providing 150-190 calories, 8-10g of fat and 3-4g of protein. The packages have been redesigned since their initial debut to better communicate the all-natural ingredients inside. The product is currently available in select markets in the Los Angeles area as well as in Whole Foods Market throughout Northern California. It is available for national retail distribution, while foodservice sizes are in development.

The suggested retail price is $6.29.
