Johnsonville Sausage developed a new line of fully cooked and skillet-ready meatballs.

Long known for its namesake links as well as sausage patties, Johnsonville Sausage LLC, Sheboygan Falls, Wis., has developed an entirely new product line for the brand, bringing fully cooked and skillet-ready meatballs in three flavors -- and sausage slices in two flavors -- to the freezer section of grocers nationwide. Made with premium cuts of fresh pork and unique blends of herbs and spices, the new frozen meatballs come in three varieties: Classic Italian, Homestyle and Three Cheese. They come packaged in a re-sealable zipper bag that allows for multiple use while maintaining freshness and flavor.

Sausage Slices join the meatballs in the freezer case, representing yet another way to purchase the company’s popular encased meats. The frozen version comes in two varieties: Hot & Spicy and Mild Italian. The sausage slices are gluten free.

“Meatballs have been a family favorite but often are considered too time-consuming to make,” says Valerie Zanchettin, senior brand manager. “From the freezer to the oven, stove or even the microwave, our new meatballs and sausage slices offer our customers this popular protein in a flavorful and convenient option to enhance their pasta dishes, pizzas, sandwiches and appetizers.”

The meatballs come in 24-oz. packages, containing about 28 meatballs, while the sausage slices come in 22-oz. packages. Both retail for $7.99.
