Michael Angelo’s Gourmet Foods uses Kamut brand khorasan wheat to make the pastas for its new line of its Made With Organic ready-made, frozen meals.

When Michael Angelo’s Gourmet Foods decided to include organic ingredients in its frozen meals, it was important that the recipes maintain their quality, authentic Italian flair. That’s why the company opted to use Kamut brand khorasan wheat to make the pastas for its new line of Michael Angelo’s Made With Organic ready-made, frozen meals. The meals use at least 70 percent organic ingredients and come in offerings such as: Baked Ziti With Turkey Meatballs, Lasagna With Meat Sauce, Chicken Alfredo, Vegetable Lasagna, Manicotti With Sauce, Four Cheese Lasagna, Chicken Parmesan and Turkey Sausage Lasagna.

“We discovered Kamut wheat while in Italy and decided it was the perfect authentic ingredient to represent the taste of Italy to the U.S market,” says Michael Angelo, founder. Not only is it rich in protein and minerals, including selenium and zinc, both powerful antioxidants, but it also contains a high percentage of lipids, taking it longer to digest and keeping you full longer. It’s renowned for its rich nutty and buttery flavor, which makes it ideal for a variety of different dishes, especially pastas.
