Pirate’s Booty Mac & Cheese Sets Sail for Meal Time

June 3, 2014
With no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives, B&G Foods’ newest meal invites everyone to indulge their pirate side while staying healthy on the open sea.

B&G Foods launches its newest treasure: Pirate’s Booty Mac & Cheese made with organic wheat pasta and real cheese. The new macaroni and cheese products represent an important journey for the brand, as it discovers new aisles of the store outside of snacks. The product offers families a new way to enjoy the fun and better-for-you Pirate’s Booty brand they love by pirateizing a meal-time favorite.

Containing no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives, Pirate’s Booty Mac & Cheese is a good source of calcium and protein with zero grams of trans-fatty acids per serving. It comes in four varieties: shell-shaped pasta with aged white cheddar cheese, pirate-themed shaped pasta with aged white cheddar cheese, traditional elbow pasta with aged white cheddar cheese and traditional elbow pasta with mild cheddar cheese. The dinner kits require the addition of one-fourth cup milk and a half-tablespoon of butter. Each 6-oz. box makes about two and a half cups of cheesy pasta.

The product rolled out in April to key retailers such as Target and Ahold. Expanded national distribution began in early June. The suggested retail price is $1.79 to $2.19.
