The frozen treat will be available in six flavors and will come short quart rounds.

Frozen custard, a historically Midwestern foodservice treat sold in a cup or cone, is best known for its extra creaminess and thickness.

This summer, Nestlé USA will be the first national U.S. marketer to launch a frozen custard line for the retail channel. Sold under both the Dreyer’s (Western states and Texas) and Edy’s (remainder of U.S.) brands, the new Frozen Custard line comes in six flavors: Chocolate Malt, Mint Cookies ’N’ Cream, Old Fashioned Vanilla, Peanut Butter Pie, Salted Caramel Pretzel and Snickerdoodle. The product comes in short quart rounds and has a suggested retail price of $4.99 to $5.49.

“Frozen custard is traditionally viewed as a treat that families would leave their homes to enjoy. We’re thrilled to be able to bring this beloved dessert into freezers across the country for families to enjoy in the comfort of their homes,” says Jason Merideth, brand manager. “The innovation that went into creating the perfect experience of classic custard flavors and high-quality, wholesome ingredients with no artificial colors or flavors is something our brands are proud to stand by."
