Daiya, a North American processor of dairy-free foods, expands its plant-based offerings to include Greek Yogurt Alternative. Until now, the company's menu had something for lunch, dinner, dessert and snack times. Now Daiya can add breakfast to the list. Founded in 2008, the company's original offering is dairy-free blocks, shreds and slices of cheese alternative, as well as cream cheese-style spreads. In the past two years, the company used these products to develop dairy-, gluten- and soy-free Cheezy Mac pasta kits, ready-to-eat Cheezecakes and artisanal frozen pizzas.

The Greek Yogurt Alternative is made from a signature ingredient blend of coconut, vegetable oil and pea protein. The smooth and creamy product comes in four fruit flavors: Black Cherry, Blueberry, Peach and Strawberry. Each 5.3-oz. container boasts 8g of protein and has a suggested retail price of $1.99.

“Daiya prides itself in offering better-for-you versions of the everyday foods people love to eat,” says Michael Lynch, vice president of marketing. “Whenever we go into the test kitchen, our goal is to enable people to enjoy the wonderful experience of dairy without any compromise.”
