Four of America's favorite local dishes took center stage in the potato chip aisle this summer. Out of millions of submissions from fans across America, Lay's, one of the marquee brands from PepsiCo's Frito-Lay division, chose four finalist flavors to compete for a $1 million grand prize in the Lay's “Do Us A Flavor” contest.

The four finalist flavors were: Wavy West Coast Truffle Fries, Southern Biscuits and Gravy, New York Reuben and Kettle Cooked Greektown Gyro. From July 27 through Oct. 18, consumers were able to vote once per day per person/device/platform for their favorite flavor. The winning flavor will remain on store shelves following the completion of the contest. In addition to being sold through all retail channels in multi-serve bags, single-serve bags were available at U.S. Subway sandwich shops.

PepsiCo first launched the Do Us A Flavor contest in the U.S. in July 2012, which resulted in Lay's Cheesy Garlic Bread. Since, the contest has been held in numerous countries with consumers suggesting millions of ideas for chips flavors around the world.
