Entrepreneur Johnny Kien, founder of the Green Carrot Juice Co., is launching a unique baby food company, Keen Bean Inc., to make its namesake Keen Bean Baby Blends. The father of one with another on the way says after finding store baby food options limited, he decided to make his own. With unique, superfood ingredients like goji and acai, hemp hearts and chickpeas, as well as vegan and gluten-free options, Keen Bean Baby Blends is seeking to change the packaged baby food world.

Different from conventional baby food, Keen Bean does not boil or use any heat to process, as high temperatures may destroy healthy nutrients and enzymes. Instead, the product is made using cold pressure to keep the bad germs out and the good stuff in, eliminating the need for chemical preservatives and additives while still maintaining safety and quality, he explains. It is a perishable product and should be consumed within 24 hours of opening.

“It is time to start serving our little ones real food,” says Kien. “Our product is as close to homemade, mama- (or dada-) fresh as possible, with the convenience of a spout pouch.”
