Carnivore Meat Co. Names New CEO

March 18, 2024
Industry veteran Heather Govea will lead the company effective May 1, 2024.

Freeze-dried and frozen raw pet food processor Carnivore Meat Co. has named Heather Govea to be its new chief executive officer, effective May 1, 2024.

Govea brings decades of pet food experience, having previously served in leadership positions at Natural Balance, Del Monte/Big Heart Pet Brands and Nulo. She most recently was the chief strategy officer at Alphia Inc.

Govea expects to leverage momentum behind the relaunch of the company’s Vital Essentials brand and its move into a new 235,000-sq.-ft. processing facility and headquarters this year. Carnivore and its parent company, Arbor Investments, believe Govea’s experience and passion for the pet industry will spur continued growth for the business.
