Bumble Bee Seafoods Taps Former StarKist Exec to Be New CEO

Andrew Choe, who led StarKist for eight years, took the reins of Bumble Bee on April 1.

Bumble Bee Seafoods has appointed a new CEO to lead the company effective as of April 1. Andrew Choe took the reins of the 125-year-old seafoods company, appointed to the position by Jerry Chou, who had served as interim CEO since July 2022. Chou will continue to serve as chair of the board for Bumble Bee.

Choe comes to Bumble Bee after serving as CEO for Sensee World, a company that provides products to help the visually impaired community. Prior to that, Choe had spent eight years as CEO of StarKist, prior to which he had been senior vice president of supply chain and operations for the company for two years.

Choe resides in Pittsburgh, but will relocate to San Diego, Calif., to work from Bumble Bee’s company offices.
