Beadlets of Zeaxanthin

Oct. 10, 2008

Scientific evidence indicates that zeaxanthin, a carotenoid pigment, is important in reducing the risk of cataract formation and age-related macular degeneration (AMD), the two most prevalent chronic eye diseases. ZeaGold zeaxanthin, produced from paprika, is unique. It is natural, GRAS, obtained from a whole-food source and exempt from certification under the Code of Federal Regulations color-additive regulations. In addition, buyers of ZeaGold zeaxanthin receive a royalty-free license to a U.S patent, which allows them to include up to 4mg per day zeaxanthin in dietary supplements. A new line of 5 percent Zeagold Natural Zeaxanthin Beadlets is suitable for use in tablets, capsules and beverage formulations. The beadleting process encapsulates the natural zeaxanthin in a starch matrix and provides two very valuable benefits: it protects the zeaxanthin from oxidative degradation, and prevents interaction with other active ingredients.
