Survives washdowns
The 700 Series Worm Gear Speed Reducer was redesigned for poultry, meat, fruit and vegetable processing applications that need not only long-life materials but specialized design advantages in the caustic washdown environment of corrosive chloride salts and high acid levels. A rounded housing made from 316 stainless steel replaced the traditional flat-top design made from finished aluminum or steel and eliminates fluid pooling on the unit. Exposed hardware is shielded by smooth-surface plastic covers that help prevent particle and bacteria accumulation.

Small size, big performance

Synchronous drives offer flexibility
T.B. Wood’s Synchronous Plus synchronous drives offer the flexibility of a dual sprocket design that features both metric and standard-tapped holes coupled with a high-capacity Synchronous Plus belt. It delivers 50 percent more horsepower capacity than standard-construction, high-torque drives, according to the company. The design allows for the use of smaller, lighter weight sprockets which, in many sizes, are drilled for both inch and metric hardware. The belts feature helically wound, extra-strong fiberglass cords that are chemically treated and designed to assure superior length stability, maximum flexibility, and high tensile strength for shock loads.

The VWDIR104 is a new 500 in.-lb. globally compatible AC parallel shaft gearmotor offering dual voltage, dual frequency, single-phase, permanent split capacitor. It offers versatility and Von Weise backward compatibility. Designed for high torque, single phase commercial applications such as in food processing as well as a wide variety of conveying equipment, the gearmotors are available with either 1/10 or 1/15 horsepower (74.5 or 49.2 watts) 115/230V, 60/50 Hz. The compact, integral gear reducers feature hardened steel helical and spur gearing for efficiency and durability, with ratios ranging from 108:1 to 266:1. No venting allowed
Stainless steel motors for the food industry include ultra clean, totally enclosed non-vented (TENV) motors. TENVs range up to 3 hp and are suitable for mounting above open mixing kettles as they are clean and sanitary. Because they have no fan or fan shroud, they eliminate the challenging under-fan housekeeping.
