Triple shaft mixer with powder induction manifold

The VersaMix Model VM-600 is capable of high speed subsurface powder induction with proprietary Solids/Liquid Injection Manifold (SLIM). SLIM incorporates powder or liquid phases directly into the rotor-stator mix head, causing instant wet out as it rotates at 3,600 RPM. The classic dual-post triple-shaft design has been revolutionized with this feature to streamline the processing of substantial powder phases. The robust anchor agitator moves product from the high shear rotor stator head to a high-speed dispersing head, which deagglomerates any remaining fisheyes. Used to quickly mix large batches throughout the process industries, the SLIM feature accelerates loading phases exponentially. This design is available from laboratory sizes upwards of 4,000 gallons. Ross Mixers; Hauppauge, N.Y.; 800-243-7677; www.mixers.com

Feeding system

The low-weight ProFlex C100 fits on small extruders. As many as five feeders can be grouped around an inlet of a lab or small-size extruder. The asymmetric design prevents bridging and plugging of sticky material. A quick-change hopper option allows for fast and clean changeover without disassembling the feed screw. By keeping several hoppers including screw in stock, a range of additives and color pigments can be provided for in a flexible manner. It is equipped with an integrated gearbox for turndown ratios of up to 1:120. It is NEMA drive-ready. Schenck Process Holding GmbH; Darmstadt, Germany; 816 891-9300; www.schenckprocess.com

High-lift bin dumper

A new open-chute High-Lift Bin Dumper hydraulically raises and dumps mobile bins into a hopper that feeds an integral flexible screw conveyor operating under loss-of-weight control. Bins weighing up to 3000 lbs. are rolled into a three-sided pen, where a lifting tongue centered inboard of the casters raises and seats the rim of the bin against a grate which, together with paneled side bracing, steadies the bin during the dumping cycle, and directs the discharge path of material. The system automatically lifts a mobile bin at variable heights up to 10 ft. above floor level, opens the gate-style lid of the 60-cu.-ft. capacity receiving hopper, dumps the entire contents of the bin into the hopper, and returns the bin to the plant floor as the hopper lid closes, isolating the material from the plant environment. A laser curtain prevents operation until the bin is secured and the area cleared, eliminating the need for a safety cage with interlocked doors. The unit is constructed of stainless steel finished to food, dairy, pharmaceutical or industrial standards, and is also available in carbon steel with material contact surfaces of stainless steel. Rodent-proof seal for uneven floors

The Automatic Door Bottom is a rodent-proof, auto-retracting door bottom seal developed in direct response to requests from pest control operators for a product that protects entryways with an uneven floor or threshold. Until now, this type of irregular flooring would necessitate either a too-short seal that leaves cracks and therefore rodent vulnerability, or a flush seal that creates drag and makes the door difficult to open. The Automatic Door Bottom solves this problem with an aluminum case surrounding a movable drop-bar seal. The drop-bar seal is actuated by a plunger that contacts the jamb as the door is closing, forcing the seal down against the threshold to create a secure seal. The rubber seal is filled with rodent-proof fill fabric. Xcluder; Buffalo Grove, Ill.; 847-495-4700; www.buyxcluder.com
