General Mills is embarking on a restructuring plan that includes parting ways with its global chief marketing officer.

Ivan Pollard is leaving the company about four years after he arrived from Coca-Cola. The company told Ad Age that Pollard had “accomplished what he set out to do” and that he would not be replaced in his global role. Pollard had received credit for revitalizing several legacy General Mills brands.

Pollard’s departure was part of a restructuring plan that General Mills announced in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The filing says that on May 5, General Mills “approved restructuring actions designed to better align its organizational structure and resources with its strategic initiatives.” It says the company is unable to determine a financial impact at this time.
