Messe Düsseldorf, the show’s sponsor, announced that the event, originally scheduled for May 7-13, has been postponed to Feb. 25-March 3, 2021. The postponement follows a ban by the city of Düsseldorf on gatherings of more than 1,000 people.
“The trade fair thrives on personal encounters and direct exchange between people from all over the world. This is only possible if there are no health risks involved. Therefore, the postponement is responsible and right,” Christian Traumann, President of interpack 2020, said in a statement.
The interpack website says that exhibitors’ contracts will remain in force for the new dates next year, but made no mention of refunds, saying only, “Should individual exhibitors not be able to adhere to the existing contracts, an individual solution must be found in consultation with all parties involved.”
