Bay State Milling Co. (www.baystatemilling.com), Quincy, Mass., announced it is acquiring T.J. Harkins Basic Commodity Brokers Inc. and subsidiaries, a supplier of natural, nutritious and flavorful ingredients for grain-based foods. T.J. Harkins specializes in sesame and edible seeds, sweet spices, ancient grains, specialty grain flours and grain blends. It’s headquartered in Bolingbrook, Ill., with a sales office in San Francisco and a distribution facility in Miami.
