Rich Products Corp. Announces Planned Closure of Fountain Inn, South Carolina, Plant

Nov. 27, 2024
Company will shut down the facility between Jan. 31 and Feb. 28, 2025, citing necessary consolidation of production in its U.S. plants.

Rich Products Corp. announced it will shutter its Fountain Inn, S.C., processing plant in the coming months, leading to the layoff of 184 employees, according to several local news reports.

The plant, which has been in operation since 2013 in the northwestern part of the state, is expected to close by the end of February 2025, but no earlier than Jan. 31, 2025, according to reports.

In a statement to at least one news outlet, Rich’s noted that it is consolidating production across its manufacturing network and came to the conclusion that the Fountain Inn plant would close to improve the company’s production efficiency. The company plans to host a job fair for impacted employees, and it also said it will assist with severance packages, career assistance and job resources.

Local officials also noted that Rich’s will offer relocation opportunities to workers willing to move to other facilities in its network.
