Bloomberg: McCormick & Co. Eyes Acquisition of Sauer Brands
Manufacturers of spices, herbs, mixes and sauces — as well as Duke’s mayonnaise — would be sold from private-equity firm Falfurrias Capital Partners, if an agreement were reached.
According to Bloomberg, McCormick & Co. has entered into talks to acquire Sauer Brands Inc., the makers of Duke’s mayonnaise, from private-equity firm Falfurrias Capital Partners.
McCormick & Co. did not comment on the information to Bloomberg, but the news outlet’s sources said Sauer could end up valued at more than $1 billion, if a deal should be reached. Sauer Brands owns regional favorite mayonnaise brand Duke’s, but also carries a wide variety of spices, herbs, mixes and sauces, among other items, sold in retail for at-home cooks.
Falfurrias acquired Sauer Brands in 2019 (though it was known as C.F. Sauer Co. at that time), and reportedly began exploring a sale of the company earlier this year.
