Mars Wrigley will be investing $175 million in an expansion of its candy plant in Topeka, Kansas, the company recently announced.
The expansion will allow Mars to build a new line to process Milky Way and 3 Musketeers candy bars there, and to improve an existing Snickers line. The plant already makes M&Ms and Twix. The project will add about 100 jobs to the plant’s workforce and is expected to be completed next year.
The plans for Topeka come on the heels of Mars Wrigley announcing that it will close a plant in Chicago by 2024.
