StarKist Co. recently announced it was moving its headquarters from Pittsburgh to Reston, Virginia. According to a statement, the Pittsburgh headquarters will close at the end of March 22; however, the company will maintain a presence in the region.
The seafood and chicken processor is investing $3.6 million in a new operation just outside of Washington, DC, where it will occupy 24,000 square feet. In moving its headquarters to Virginia, the company plans on creating 83 new jobs.
“StarKist is proud to make Reston, Virginia our official global headquarters starting in April 2022,” said Andrew Choe, President and CEO of StarKist Co. "I believe the move to Virginia will provide an outstanding work environment for our employees, as well as an opportunity to expand the StarKist business in the years ahead.”
