Post’s Michael Foods Business To Expand Norwalk, Iowa Plant
Post Holdings unveiled an apparent $146 million expansion of its Michael Foods manufacturing and distribution facility in Norwalk, Iowa.
The 150,000-sq.-ft. facility, which processes eggs and precooked egg products, opened in 2019. The expansion will add approximately 132,000 sq. ft. and is expected to create 186 new jobs. Construction is expected to begin this July with targeted completion in December 2024.
Based in Hopkins, Minn., Michael Foods is primarily a foodservice business of Post Holdings, with brands that include Papetti’s and Simply Potatoes. It also claims to be the largest processor of value-added eggs in the U.S.
Incentives apparently were provided by the City of Norwalk and the Iowa Economic Development Authority.
