1440 Foods, makers of Pure Protein nutrition bars, Body Fortress protein powders and Met-Rx meal replacements, announced it will open a new production facility in Jeffersonville, Ind., to accommodate growing demand for its on-the-go, healthy snack products.
The company will renovate 200,000 sq. ft., installing new equipment and investing a total of more than $60 million on the plant. Hiring is under way currently, and 1440 anticipates an opening date in 2025 for the facility. Development is supported by up to $3.7 million in tax credit incentives through the Indiana Economic Development Corp. (IEDC).
The Jeffersonville facility was chose from several options by 1440 Foods for its established transportation and logistics infrastructure, as well as its centralized location in comparison to U.S. transportation routes.
1440 Foods is jointly owned by 4x4 Capital and Bain Capital Private Equity. Its products reach consumers through online retailers as well as grocery, pharmacy and convenience store channels nationwide.
