Adding its third greenhouse in the state will make the McAdoo controlled-atmosphere agriculture (CEA) facility the largest of its type in North America.
Little Leaf Farms announces further expansion in McAdoo, Pa., with the addition of its third 10-acre greenhouse, opening this fall.
Packaged lettuce grower and processor Little Leaf Farms will further expand its McAdoo, Pa., complex by opening a new greenhouse there this fall. Little Leaf just last June announced the initial greenhouse at the McAdoo site, and now it will add another 10-acre facility there. The company stated that the expansion will make the campus the largest controlled-atmosphere agriculture (CEA) leafy greens campus in North America.
The added greenhouse space will also increase the company’s workforce over the 300 mark and produce products for the Southeast and Midwest regions. Paul Sellew, founder and CEO of Little Leaf, said the latest expansion will support the company’s “progress toward our goal of reaching $200 million in retail sales this year.”
The company isn’t done expanding either, the release noted. Little Leaf plans to open several more greenhouses in the future. To that end, the company recently closed a new credit facility with a capacity of $250 million, comprised of term loan facilities, delayed draw facilities and a revolving credit line.
