Angelic shut down in March; Legacy paid $5.5 million for the Milwaukee-area plant.

Legacy Bakehouse, a Waukesha, Wis., commercial baker, reportedly bought the former Angelic Bakehouse building in Cudahy, Wis., for $5.5 million, according to local media.

Angelic Bakehouse was dedicated to whole-grain and sprouted bread products but shut down unexpectedly in March. It had been owned since 2016 by T. Marzetti.

Legacy Bakehouse had not commented even to local media about plans for the building. Legacy makes bread sticks, rye chips, bagel chips, pita chips and snack mix. Legacy was bought by Benford Capital Partners, a Chicago private equity investment firm, in early 2023.
