Stratas Foods, a supplier of oils, sauces and dressings, has an agreement to acquire AAK Foodservice, primarily a Hillside, N.J., manufacturing facility with similar capabilities. Price was not disclosed.

The AAK plant will complement Stratas’ existing Englewood, N.J., site and expand the latter’s presence in the northeast U.S. The acquirer called the AAK facility “a high-capacity and well-invested plant.” Upon completion of the transaction, employees of AAK Foodservice, Hillside will become part of the Stratas Foods team.

Both companies supply fats, oils, mayonnaise, dressings and sauces to the foodservice, retail private label and food ingredients markets in North America. Stratas Foods was formed in October 2008 as a 50/50 joint venture between Associated British Foods and ADM.
