Global beverage company Diageo’s North American business will open a new manufacturing facility and warehouse in Montgomery, Ala., according to a release shared by the company.

The 360,000-sq.-ft. facility will be able to produce “multi-million” cases annually of Diageo’s beverage alcohol brands, enhance supply chain operations in North America and support future growth for its export business. Diageo Montgomery, as the facility will be known, will cost the company approximately $415 million — and development is already underway — and is expected to be fully operational in the second half of this calendar year (2025).

The new facility will allow the company to better serve its southern beverage distributors, mitigating carbon emissions through reduced road miles. It will also use state-of-the-art technology to use water and energy more efficiently. The company noted the move is part of a multi-year program across multiple geographies to improve supply chain resilience and agility.

Once up and running, about 100 full-time employees will work at Diageo Montgomery.
