Chobani Spending $500 Million on Twin Falls, Idaho, Plant Expansion, its Biggest Investment Ever
Chobani LLC will invest $500 million into its Twin Falls, Idaho, processing plant, increasing production by 50% and footprint by more than 500,000 sq. ft., according to an announcement shared by the City of Twin Falls. Once the expansion is complete, the Twin Falls plant will span 1.6 million sq. ft., operating 24 production lines and employing more than 1,200 people.
Construction for the expansion — which reportedly represents the company’s largest investment to date — is expected to begin immediately and be operational in early 2026. The facility produces Chobani yogurt, oatmilk and coffee creamers.
The project is expected to create at least 160 new jobs and continues a partnership between Chobani, the City of Twin Falls and the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Twin Falls, which started in 2011.
Twin Falls will make water and sewer system upgrades to provide the added utility services needed for the expansion. Chobani will contribute to the sewer upgrades as well as upgrades to the local power substation to handle the facility’s additional needs. Furthermore, Chobani will expand its wastewater discharge fee and the capacity of its wastewater pretreatment facility. Reimbursements for some of these costs will be made available by the Urban Renewal Agency.
